    Sovereign coil question

Hi all Im trying to gain a little more depth with the GT and after using a large sef a few years back just wondered if they are top dog or if the newer coils are a better buy ?

I run the machine hip mounted so its important that the coil wire is long enough as this was the problem with the old sef and my reason for selling it.

As always your thoughts will be appreciated

    regards Pat

Can't really help on the GT but I am sure there is someone out there who can, just hang on a bit for them to wake up.

    Re: Sovereign coil question

Try the coiltek wot coil, got one on my elite for the wet sand, it,s very good, adds ten to fifteen percent depth on a target the size of a pound coin while retaining the sensitivity of the tornado coil.

Agree with Flossy the WOT is nice, BTW you can get an extension lead for the coil lead if hip mounted, just tape the connector to the stem, its annoying otherwise

My 15 inch WOT became my standard coil for many years, but it's a heavy beast, smaller ones are available.

Hi jammydodger, I use both the 12x10 and the 15x12 sef coils on my gt, never had a problem hip mounting mine the cables (may be made longer now?)
I use the 15x12 95% of the time this is on pasture, it goes deep and is very sensitive to the small stuff, it will pick up shotty cap centres no problem
i pulled out a nice little roman radiate coin 15mm diameter from inbetween a load of tree roots last week the signal was loud and clear
carnt comment on the other coils though, hope this helps, chris
