    Just another bit of metal detecting rubbish?

    On those days when you are unable to detect, it may well be useful to take a second look in the box where you’ve thrown all your ‘scrap’.

    Great read as usual, and a lesson in there as well. I've certainly found a few treasures over the years when cleaning out my junk bucket...one being half of a gold class ring that was totally encrusted in green "sea cement" as I call it.

    Thanks Guys. In my early days I once discarded a Saxon saucer brooch! Never lived it down! It's always worth checking the dross and even seeking a second opinion.
