There's no pleasing some people.
On a recent dig where a stater, a denarius and several hammered silver coins were found, I had to make do with a foreign coin!
In fact I am quite pleased as it's clearly more unusual than a scruffy Edward (say) hammered coin and I have found a few of those this year.
Nice to be able to read the date (1705) and I have established that it's a Louis 14th issue. If any one can help with the denomination, I would appreciate it.

Nice to see an old silver come out in such good condition. Great find mate. Certainly a much better find then all those french euro's I hook out of the Thames up in the centre of town.
