Hi all. Got this today. I think its an Edward the Confessor penny, minted in Thetford by Leofwin.
Ive put it on UKDFD so I'm probably completely wrong!!!

Great coin, well done! I'm now back in the 11th Century trying to visualise where this was made, the workshop, the people, the surroundings, the peace at night...no noises other than nature and the inhabitants of the village/town. I love this hobby it's awesome.

I know exactly what you mean. I was thinking that how, within 20 or so years of this coin being struck, this country was turned on its head courtesy of the Normans. This coin was found within a mile or so of a huge motte and bailey castle which dominates the countryside around and even gives the village its name, Clare. {de Clare, local Norman lord} Just as you say, fantastic hobby!!!!!!
