    Understanding tones.

I have been using Gordons Tadpole program, I am okay with the low deep tones, but the high tones are confusing me I am tending to dig iron as well as coins. As anyone any suggestions.

Make sure you are on Pattern 1 with the tadpole not pattern 2 - the checker. I think by default Pattern 2 is loaded. press the "detect" button to flick between the two!

I know where you are coming fro Dave. The higher tones have eluded me too and i know mnay others in the conduct mode.
Just dig if in doubt and yes use the checker programme by pressing the detect button and you will get a more open screen.

The 50 tones confuse me as well. My sound pattern is combined. 4 conductive and one iron tone. Works pretty well for me.

Good advice from everyone. Not yet good enough to give any out, but I really do appreciate the sharing of advice from all.
