Tell J/A you dont want the headphones, I got £60.00 off, I paid 1939.00. Wether they will still do it I dont know. It costs nowt to ask.

Ask a well known detector distributor/dealer they are the ones fixing the price. Or (for legal reasons) enforcing the Manufacturers Recommended Price.
Anyway they are so popular in the UK that they were out of stock.... that may have changed.
From a UK perspective its probably been a great boost to XP sales with many Minelab users either moving to the darkside (weight,age,price) or keeping hold of their non submersible E-Tracs & Explorers.
Designed,marketed & priced for our cousins over the pond seems a reasonable summary.
On the plus side the ergonomics of the design is great.
