    Latest Bournemouth beach hunt

Took a little trip a few weeks ago to Bournemouth. Used the Excalibur II a.m. in the wet and the Etrac on the dry sand in the afternoon. Dug plenty rubbish in amongst it found 56 coins for £17.64, 25 pesatas, 10 cent Euro, gold ring and bits of tat. It amases me just how much junk is still on the UK beaches. Plenty grey matter and attached fish hooks, wont stick in kiddies feet now.

    Little vid on the way.

Well done Mal, though Bournemouth has been getting less good i am told due to very high parking charges putting people off visiting.

The last few weeks i have found a lot of cash on the beach and a lot of foreign older coins along with several old Shillings and old 5 and 10 pence coins.
I think the weird weather has been taking a bit of the shingle or sand away. Would not mind seeing a fiece SW storm for next Saturday afternoon then on Sunday i and my ET will be in our element.

Thanks for the piccies Mal, glad you are still getting down to Bournemouth, all we need is a bit of decent weather to get the depositors active again and provide a few tickets as Max would say.

    Your spot on Richard,

Car park charges have seen numbers down. Bournemouth Council are now charging £11 for a days parking. That is scandalous if they are trying to attract families for a day out at the beach.

One thing I have noticed this year is a big difference in the numbers of dry sand keepers but still loads of dross and junk rubbish that never goes away. The wet weather is also a big factor as well as the Car Park charges.

But you have to dig the crap to find the Bling Bling.

Bognor beach is also a waste of time this year, the weather the ammount of new detectorist and the lack of depositors is to blame IMO.
Found a spot on a shore line a month ago and had 3 George v silvers so its out there you just have to think outside the box keep meaning to go back for another search but finding the time atm is hard.

Bognor is a bore , found £2.33p the time i went there. Total waste of time and iron all over the place.
Littlehampton is better, pity there aren't a lot more good beaches around here.

Brilliant Mal, all I have had is in the first picture... Really want to get to grips with this beach detecting... One Day I hope to have something resembling the bottom picture..

Wow thats a good day for Bognor

Stayed at Combe Haven a few weeks back and took the detector in the hope of a few hours detecting but it seemed to be just shingle with no sand Im pretty sure it was low tide but then again it wouldnt be the first time I've got it wrong

    Hi Richard,

The 9ct goldie is the broken one - gents signet ring with initials FP. Its quite worn and was made in 1956 by Becker Brothers - 375 - London mark.

Video of this latest hunt is on MLOTV and YouTUbe

Morning spent in the water with the Excalibur II following the tide out. PM with the ETrac in the transition zone at the high tide line.
