Beach finds 09/07/12 ( ET finds first and second prise) :D

Today i got up at 5am and caught the bus half hour later , when i got to the beach i looked under the Pier and saw lots of seaweed which was there the last time i went so i went to the main beach between the Piers. I saw little rubbish about so had no idea where to search so decided to just do as much as possible.
I found a number of coins but few £1 coins , lots of 20p coins though and 50p coins. Half way along i came across a target 12 - 18 and thought 50p but then when i dug out the shingle with the fork out popped a gold ring , it said 916 . The thing is it was a fair way up the beach though not too far to have been flicked up by a wave on a long tide , it was a good surprise.
after that i went to the wet beach and found a silver ring on the surface from there i found almost nothing.
By the end i had £10.87p , a US cent , a ? foreign coin and the gold a silver rings. The gold is 4.1g and the silver is 8.3g.

Nicely done - my last time on my local beach I got 1 x 5p and 2 bits of copper sheet..... in about 2 hours. Mind you, any bloke who goes in the North Sea without a wet suit, a dry suit and a heated suit will have a sudden sex change!

I notice that you have no clad coins there - i.e. 1,2,5 and 10 pence jobbies.

I normally knock them out on my programme but have different screens for different needs.

Have not seen the steel 10p yet in circulation , only the 1 2 5p coins.

My best cash terms was over £190 in coinage in late May spread through a whole day. Rarely like that though.

I've just not hit the right beach at the right time.... and the odds are against those of us who can only get to "sunny" Norfolk or Skeggie.

Just read 916 gold is usual in India. 916=22k.

The silver looks like its been between the pebbles.

Not too much coinage (for your standard) but still a nice haul.

The gold ring has i think a Palm tree on it ? maybe Dubai or Saudi or other Middle eastern country.
