    more french finds day two

hi all, had another go at the roman site again today. got a few bronzes and an as . an early strapend popped out as well in one field alongside the ruins. a couple of nice lead sack seals and some fusaoles (circular lead thingys that no-one seems to know what they were for?) . my best find today was the silver case/locket , not sure how old it is but i'm chuffed to nuts with it. a guy from cheshire on the campsite here showed some interest yesterday so he came along today and used a detector for the first time and he found the denarius with the pierced hole in so he is converted now and looking to buy a machine when he gets back to the uk. an i.d on the denarius would be good if poss for him. going to have a little look tomorrow for two hours before i have to leave on my way home, bye for now.

Some more nice finds Sean. Bet you hate to be leaving that place as you have not even scratched the surface yet.
    Save the goodies for later.

thats true scotty but to tell the truth it is really hard going. there is so much rubbish (bottle caps, silver foil, tins ) that i end up with a bag full along with the good finds but hey thats detecting!! there no rush either as the lady who owns the place is really chilled out, brought us out cold drinks today and asked did we want omelettes for lunch!

hi dave , i know just about every inch of the kerry coastline being a fisherman. used to be up there nearly every weekend fishing from north kerry coast along the shannon at tarbert and foynes round to kerry head. at fenit in tralee bay we used to catch stingray up to 50 lb off the pier! we usually ended up in the atlantic bar in kenmare falling out of the door and into the camper parked outside . as you said its a fantastic place.
