First day Hammered with CTX and my view so far

    CTX 3030
Hi all, I had a great day with my new machine, 3rd signal was a nice Edward III halfgroat, not much after that but it was good learning the machine. I can't honestly say that I got any signals that I wouldn't have got with my E-trac, In the end I ran the machine in 50 conductive tones and it sounded lovely, I was with Gaz-t and he had his E-trac and we was comparing signals, I got a signal that I got Gaz to check with E-trac and he could not get it so we thought we had found something with the CTX that the E-trac couldn't find only to dig it up and find it was hot rock, it gave numbers 11-38 and sounded like a low tone deep hammered. through out the day I dug a few more of these hot rocks then I started to recognise the sound they made and going by the numbers I was able to ignore them. Does anyone know why it picks up the hot rock when E-trac doesn't?
I think that perhaps the CTX is maybe that bit more sensitive.
As regards weight I detected from 9.30 to 5 with no problem at all, the balance is amazing, I wouldn't say it felt lighter than the E-trac but certainly no heavier.

Were you using manual ground balance?
I find I dig the occasional hot rock when in manual GB.

Hi mate I usually do detect in manual but had to detect in auto +3 as too much interference from overhead lines, it was same for E-tracs

Check to see if you are searching in manual GB (not sensitivity).

Yes, and that's why you are hitting the occasional hotrock.... Are you actually ground balancing before detecting? If not I would disable this feature.

Great Hammy... Even better news was what you said Andy about the weight and balance of this machine.. As you know picking it up in the shop does not give you the real load after being out all day.. keep the news coming.
    Cheers
