    Re: CTX downloads

I started off by deleting all the modes Minelab put in there because they take up half the spaces for modes and I would probably never use them certainly not the way I detect. They could always be brought back with a reset I expect if I needed to.
I now have two or three variations of the 4 tone co / combined set up that I shall be using along with gordons tadpole that he sent me so that I can change quickly in the field to another variation without stopping to think where everything is in the menu. I have made a TTF mode in one slot incase I want to try that occasionally, another slot I shall keep free for a copy of Mals beach programme in case I ever go on the beach, my last slot for now I have just made another combined screen but with two tone co a very low tone again for the foil 0 - 3co 100hz then for the rest of the co partition a tone of 318hz and then once again 1200hz for the Iron partition below fe 28. Something else to play around with in the field.

To go with my four tones co setup that I shall be using most of the time I have chosen to go with a very high pitched tone (1200hz) in the combined partition once again below fe 28 then in the four partitions which for now I have set at
    0 - 3 co 4 - 19 co 20 - 37co 38 -50co I have tones of 75hz / 295hz / 430hz / 496hz. Im playing around with all these settings at the moment to suit my own personal hearing.
Why Waste time using an ordinary detector when you have the option to own a CTX3030.

I had this problem a couple of years ago and cannot remember how to do it. How do I open the above program that Gordon posted.

    Re: CTX downloads

Open Xchange 2, and connect your CTX to your computer using the supplied USB cable.

On the lefthand side, above the RECYCLE bin, is the FILE feature..... click it so it is low-lighted.

At the top of the new window pane, above the FILTER feature, is a small icon of a page with an "UP" arrow on it.

Click it.... then click the Choose File button that appears. Navigate to the file on your desktop (the one I emailed to you).... and press open.

My program should now be in Xchange 2.

Drag them onto the CTX 3030 icon on the left, and then disconnect the usb cable.
Wait until it updates and reboots itself, and you should be able to find them in your program menu.

    Re: CTX downloads

thanks for that gave them a quick spin in the field and i think they are going to be very helpful.............i liked the Muppet program what does that say?

    Re: CTX downloads

Yes the muppet works well and runs very quiet (and it's surprisingly deep).... I also like the Combined and Smooth programs on good sites where I get my head down (they are the two I have switchable on the user button.)

    Hi Guys

This is my first post on this site and I find the site great and informative. Just bought myself a CTX3030 and can't seem to open up the programs on here to see how the various one have been set up.I have used an Etrac in the past so have some idea how these FBS machines are programmed but wanted to see how you guys are setting up your CTXs. It says I do not have permission to do so.
Do I need to be a platinum member to open these up? And if so how do I go about becomming "platinum".

    Regards Geoff

    Re: CTX downloads

cheers gog for the programs, had a longer go with them and they are doing the bizz........actually i tell a lie, i found the tones on the river one a bit hard to get my head round, is there a reason for having them like that?

  15. #15

    Re: CTX downloads

These are all unique programs... not just variations of a theme.

The river program is based on four conductive tones.... low tones for small roman, and high tone on high conductive targets including any iron falsing.

The program also has a lot of discrimination pattern, smooth sounds and recovery fast and deep on.

I usually run this program in auto sensitivity, or in the low manual 20's. It is not designed to be a deep program, because I don't want to dig over eight inches.

    Re: CTX downloads

Tried some of these out today on my first foray with the CTX.
Found a fragment of a hammered using the reverse pattern (as I like to hear iron as a low tone). Great programs as a start point although I will definitely keep the reverse prog permanently.
Thanks ironhearted_gog for giving me a great start with the CTX.
    Regards.

    Re: CTX downloads

    Hi Gordon,

A long time detectorist but new to the CTX.

Have used the built in programmes but looking to expand.

Very interest in trying your download.

From what I'm reading it appears there are a number of different programmes in the download ?

If so is there any information of what each programme is best suited for etc listed anywhere ?

    Thanks

    Bill

I found the programs under downloads by remembering the filename IHG-310612
Thanks Gordon for all the hard work that must have gone into making them
