what a result

had a great result this morning, after talking to a local woman last night who was a tour guide in the 16th century chateau next to the campsite i'm on she has got me permission with her friend who owns all the land next to the said chateau! on the land there are gallo roman remains as well and its never been detected. i know there is no certaintys in this game but i'm pumped. i am taking my camera for some pics and will post up finds (if any) later today..... dont know what the ground is like or whether its pasture or not so i'll have to wait and see. be nice to give the ctx a run out s well. now all i have to do is kayak across the river with all my kit!! bye for now

hi, had a good day in the grounds next to the chateau but there was loads of silver paper, tin cans and general rubbish to wade through to get the decent targets. i couldnt believe this house has a roman temple, baths and villa ruins all exposed and a amphitheatre in the woods . they were excavated years ago and just left. today just had a run around each of the fields that surround the ruins to get a general idea of what was there. i got 2 grots , a nice constantine antonianus and a postumus sestertius. also had 3, well 2 and a bit hammered coins and a few liards and double tournois (jettons) all worn flat and 2 nice thimbles . a silver vestas case with matches inside and what looks like a dogtag? the lady of the house said that zee germans occupied the house during ze war! i am going back tomorrow to have another prod about so hopefully i will have some more stuff to post up tomorrow, bye for now.

ah thats what it was swissrolly! it says helvetica on the back and its dated 1958. nice little coin .
