Cool Minelab Pro Find pinpointer picture

(Hope it's okay to post this,if not remove it.)

Was browsing the other forum, saw this pic posted by Digger.

Would like to know if it works like the Garrett. Does it beep slow then faster?
What does the 25 mean?...................... 25 inches? $25?
Looks like there won't be any bluetooth like many hoped. Also doesn't appear waterproof(speaker hole)
Hopefully I'm wrong and it's waterproof speaker like the CTX speaker.

Hope it's not more expensive, which it probably is.

    At the mall....

I'm still trying to keep names in order because I know some here are on there. Also some variation of "Digger" is everywhere.
I can't think of his screen name here but he's been instrumental with CTX testing. Randy....he's here, sorry but I can't remember his screen name here.

All I know is it's much more relaxed on this forum, but there's good info there as well. Just watch what you post,no outside links.

And what does the 3030 mean after CTX?.... bullet caliber? price? LOL!!

That thing looks a lot like a Garrett ProPointer except for that +/- rocker switch.
    Volume or sensitivity control?
The one thing the Garrett lacks is a sensitivity control.
    PITA desensitizing it.
I just might spring for the MineLab if that is indeed a sensitivity control.
If its only a volume control, forget it, i'll stick with my Garrett.

Price? Because we have -+ button there so price must be more than 200 quid and for sure will be a gold magnet like ctx will be like a magic wand anytime You'll touch half penny with this it will change into gold sovereign, roman bronze into silver, pull tabs into gold rings so it must be expensive.

Nice to see some real pic ;-) I've just been told by my dealer that I shall expect one piece for me with the 1st delivery of CTX06/17 coils in the middle of July...

Some of us know only too well what FIND Mall is because many of us have been banned over the years for even mentioning the name Minelabowners.com on there or even worse something that clashes with their greedy dollar grabbing attitude to how forums should be run and policed to keep their advertisers happy in their cosy little world.

They can keep it all far as Im concerned. This forum has grown and stays a nice place to be because of the way its been run over the years and certainly not for profit as Gary can testify. He must have put a small fortune into this forum for other people to enjoy and look where its got him.
Why Waste time using an ordinary detector when you have the option to own a CTX3030.

I wonder if we have any findmall Moderators registered on here? I bet they are ashamed to say it and fear getting the boot.
I would be ashamed if I were a moderator on findmall as it pretty much sums things up to say you are an control freak/power freak.
    The pointer looks good.

Lol, nicely put scotty. Their moderators whoever they are are probably too busy moderating their own nest and throwing out people who dare to say anything out of turn to even bother about visiting a properly run forum like ours where people don't live in fear of doing something out of turn. When we ban somebody it is always for good reason and a last resort.
At least we were thought highly enough of to be the official launch platform for the Explorer SE when it was launched at our Corfe Rally. What a coup at the time, the Mall knew nothing about it. Shame the CTX wasn't announced the same way, it would have caused a lot less hassle for Minelab.

Best suggestion I've heard regarding the CTX launch

Yes Tony it would have been an ideal opportunity for Minelab, bet they don't make the same mistake again with their next launch.

    The launch was typical.
Announce the unit, then show the unit and detail it, then announce to everyone the pricing.
Now, the problem is with the supply. Hopefully, everything will work out.

Re: Minelab Pro Find pinpointer picture

Well,it looks cool to me and expect it to be better than the Garrett since they have had plenty of time to dissect it.
As long as it beeps faster as you get closer then at least it's equal to Garrett. The + - might be sensitivity because who needs volume control? I think a simple off/on for the sound is better than trying to make it whisper quite or wake the dead.

Regarding the forums, I like it here. Lots of info, videos and a modern layout. Just a bit too slow at times...too many guests compared to registered users. Haven't hung out with so many people from the other side of the world. Watching Top Gear UK (US version is crap), Gordon Ramsey and reading comments here I'm picking up some funny slang.

I found the Garrett volume way way too loud even in a noisy environment with headphones on.
In quiet parks, the dam thing could attract attention from people a mile away.
    So much for stealth digging!

Neatly wrapped black electricians tape around and over the speaker. Presto - a volume control!

As others have guessed it's gotta be either sensitivity or volume. I'm hoping it's volume myself.
