    Golden Trifecta with the CTX

    Hi all

Had some time to pass away this afternoon and since I have had my CTX I havenot made the time to hit the sov patch so called up Ed and asked if he wouldlike me to give him a run down on is new CTX as he is heading away soon andwould be taking it with him and still not having an understanding on all thesettings. Ed’s reply was, for sure, where are we heading? I said lets hit thesov patch as that would be the best place to hit some good silver targets as weall have done very well there.

Once we got there we could not believe how much water was around, it waseverywhere and it was going to be very muddy, so on with the gum boots, firedup Ed’s CTX and set it up as open screen with two tone Fe and away we went. Ihad only walked 50mtrs from the cars when I started to hit targets with a fewbass nails and lead. I moved on a bit more and then, what a sound, a verystrong 12-30 right on the nose and would not move. I called Ed, I am sure I have gold. Out with the new camera, turned it on andbeep, beep it turned off, flat battery, what, back to the car to put it oncharge and out with the back up and back to the target only to turn it on andit told me ‘NO MORE MEMORY LEFT’. Bloodycameras, idea, delete some of the pictures as it is not my camera, it's thewife's, who care about her pictures, I have gold! Delete, delete and so on and now lots ofmemory all to myself
!! Camera on, dig the hole and yes it's goldjust about 4" down in the nice soft mud, and Ed's eyes are out of hissockets with a whole lot of words I dare not put up here !! Sorry Ed, how good isthis first coin for the day and it's Gold Vid the findand up and moving again and then up with a penny then a silver (six pence) andthen only 20mtrs away, a good hit and yes 12-21 it just can't be swing, yes itis gold for sure, camera rolling and dig, whoopee there it is another Half Sov. With Ed’s hair standing tall on is backsaying I thought you were supposed to show me how to use the CTX not you showme how you dig up Gold Sovereigns with your CTX ! Sorry Ed, you stay here I will move away overthat way so just go slow and I am sure you will find one. So I move on and afew digs for Ed and two silvers and me another two Pennies, we call it for acuppa so back to the car.

Good chat with the cuppa and another rundown on the CTX for Ed. It was time to hit it again as we wererunning out of light. Back on the fieldand what, no way, the CTX just locked onagain and yes it was going to be gold and with the pug cut and dirt rolled overthere it is another Half Sov just looking at me and me looking at it in thehole. Gold at its best, bright in colourand just standing out against the dark black background of dirt.

What we ended up with: Ed two silvers and me 4 Pennies, 1 sixpence, 1 threepenceand 3 Half Gold Sovs, what an afternoon.

Re: Golden Trifecta with the CTX

Sorry, I had trouble reading your story cos I kept seeing the words "GOLD SOVEREIGN" throughout it.
What a day! and to find 3 of them, as someone said, there must be more.
    Well done.

    Hi all

I thought I give you a refresher on what 3 half gold sovereigns sound like under the CTX

This is the full Gopro Video of the finds that day,had the Gopron on my chest mount had not posted this one because I still had to compress it for Youtube.
