So ... you want to be an archaeologist! - Part 1

A light-hearted look at the world of archaeology. I ask all ‘amateur archaeologists’ not to take it too seriously (not that you would). If you are a professional arkie please don’t take offence and fire off letters of complaint to all and sundry. By all means leave a comment if you wish … I’d be interested in what you think. Your views may even spur me on to further inane scribblings. Go for it!

Enjoyed reading (i assume) your article.
Yeah those Indiana Jones movies where he not only gets the gold but also the babes too! LOL
    Gotta love that Hollywood!

As a related aside, a while ago i asked a local State Park if i could apply for a permit to detect some sites on their property.
"Only if you have a PHD in archaelogy from an accredited unniversity" , "provide a detailed report on the reason", "provide a detailed report on the historical relevance", "provide a detailed area perimeter", "provide persons involved", "provide a time frame" , "provide methods of excavation", "provide excavaion equipment", "provide a list on any vegetation destroyed during excavation", "on", and "on"......
    .....was my answer!

Don't under estimate that there Jones's now official professional arcaeologist's hat!
Seeing more and more so called arcaeologisit's on cable science channels sporting look a like hats!

I shoulda wore one of those 'official' arcaeologist hats when i tried applying for that permit!
Might of at least got my foot in the door!
