Thread: Which Detector.

    Which Detector.

A question to those who have owned the Etrac and the Deus, which do you prefer and why, forgetting the Etracs weight.

    Re: Which Detector.

E.Trac every time . Better everything, except weight and speed.

Theres no comparison Cap'n. Gave the deus several months to convince me but just didn't happen, now sold. Comfort detector, thats all it is.
Why Waste time using an ordinary detector when you have the option to own a CTX3030.

Yes I know I've just brought the new cxt 3030 but I would say deus, I have had some very good targets, it very easy to use good depth, quick and sounds good and of course the wireless technology

Troublemaking again Clayman, really wonder why some of you bother to come here other than you just love to cause trouble.
I was stating it as it is. Before the Deus I had a few months with the F75 special that went the same way. When you use something like the ETrac or explorers you instantly know if somethings not up to the same quality and performance. Deus is a lovely machine like I said comfort wise, wireless everything, lite weight, fast and easy to use in the top plough soil so ideal for rallies etc but thats it.
Just recently bought a Blisstool V3 now that is proving something that little bit special with a depth capability same as the Minelabs at half the price of a deus with a 15" coil thrown in as an extra. Its proving to me an ideal companion to my ETrac in the short time I've had it.

And no I havent deleted any posts, why should I.

A couple of members have been added to the ignore list...
When they decide to be a little bit more positive and stop causing trouble... then they will be removed from the list.

If they Miss behave they are put on the Naughty step or are asked to sit at the bottom of the stairs and Only when they have started to behave are they allowed back in to play with the rest of the family.
Is the ignore list similar. Not taking the pee,Just hadn,t heard of it before.Something new.

Your posts are still there... you are not banned... you can read your own and everyone elses post... the only thing is you are just wasting your breath :-)

Would like to hear Claymans view. If it is a case that he prefers the deus over the Trac, then that should be known and not deleted. Is the Superpower controlling this forum Chinese?

    NO.
The super power controlling this forum is me.
This is a Minelabowners forum... not an "I LOVE MY DEUS".
If you would like to know more on the Deus there are forums available for that.

This last week has been a bit of an uproar... and I am clamping down on any post that will bring disruption.
Debating Minelab machines.. costs etc is fine.
But certain members appear out of the wood work to cause trouble... that I will not let happen.

I am not so sure it is so good. I own an ET and another machine, like many here do. I Love my ET, but I love another too.

No, that is definitely not my intention. The original post asked a question, which now cannot be answered.

    Re: Which Detector.

I had the priviledge of testing the dues before release and placed against the ETRAC it was a tidy adversery to the point of lacking the depth by a
10%+ margin. There are many capable machines some will be flyers on some metals. A single freqency machine might strip a multifrequency on that one type metal but all in all multifrequency will better them across the range.
I have been metal detecting for 31 years tried everything from a cscope 330 through pulsepowers PI machine to todays top spec fbs.
I think if I'd had a Minelab explorer in 1980 (time machine needed) I would have retired before I left school in 1989 from it's proceeds.
Would have bought houses and been sitting pretty from the rental. In fact I probably would have sold and been a millionaire.
Never used a machine that gives me the confidence like a minelab does.
Sorry if I offend the minourity.

    Re: Which Detector.

No tony i am not as you say troublemaking, Seems you have to say nice things about minelab detectors or get a red card if you talk about another detector on here. Thing is i use an etrac and have for years!!. Could be because i am not a platinum member.

    Re: Which Detector.

I had both, they are two very very good detectors.

Etrac has the deus beat with its tonal system, but that is personal preference.

Etrac has the Deus beat on depth, not by alot but about 10-15%

Deus has the Etrac beat if your on a really trashy site

Deus has the Etrac beat on weight.

Like i say ive owned both and used them alot, if i were forced to pick one i would pick a Deus. Ive found some glorious finds with the Etrac over the years and would never slag it off. But for me the Deus beats its just on MY SITES, that bit is very important if you were going pasture i think the Etrac has the edge but i never do.All my sites are littered with iron that the Etrac coped well with but the Deus took it to another level for me.

At the end of the day they are both great detectors, you wont go wrong with either.

That is my honest opinion about both machines.

EDIT : Ive purchased a CTX but will keep the Deus, If i had a Etrac i would sell it after getting a CTX, not because its crap but because a Deus compliments a CTX a Etrac would not.

    Re: Which Detector.

Having second second second second thoughts about buying or not buying a CTX , wish the price was lower but if i like what i see at JA on monday then i will buy one.
As for keeping the ET , that is a certainty and if i had the Deus it would be launched into a hedge.
CTX will be my last till the end of 2017 , to much else cropping up at the moment. I really hope its worth it .

Putting aside the price of the CTX 3030, another factor for not getting one is the area where you live, here in North Wales good sites area hard to find. Getting permission isnt a problem, I think in 30 ish years ive only been refused three times, two of those were for a good reason. But to spend that sort of cash for a machine to use on poor sites cannot be justified.
